Parking while hot?

    Say you've been riding in heavy traffic on a warm day. You go to park it and the fan kicks on. Is it a good idea to let it run and cool down a bit and then shut it off?

    turn it off. no use cooling radiator when water isnt circulating through the engine. best way to keep cooler in traffic, keep the revs low.

    I've done it before. And I haven't done it even more. I genuinely don't think it matters at all.

    But why isn't coolant circulating at idle?

    Maybe I didn't phrase the question right, I meant let it idle for a minute or 2 to drop the temp.
