I dreamed about an 84 VF500 as a kid. I had a picture of one in my locker. I finally found one and picked it up this weekend. It doesn't run, and its plastics are a hodge hodge from different bikes, but most of the parts are there, and she's finally mine. Anyone with a line on bodywork that's affordable - let me know!

as your nearest NY neighbor, my advice, whether on a bike or car, stay off any highway starting with 4-- as traffic backups are legendary.

 

Oh yeah. I went into this with eyes wide open. I have no illusions this will be easy. I didn't even mention the rust in the tank, and the fact it doesn't start and who knows what else might be wrong. I figure it will make it all the more sweet when I finally get her running.

 

If you're talking about our 4-series highways , trust me. As a lifelong Toronto resident, I know all about them!

 

Oof. I thought the New Riders section was for new members... I'm not a new rider, just a new VFR owner.
