    You've seen one already.

The other one I don't have a good picture of at the moment. It is a 1985 CB400T Super Hawk III. Japanese Domestic market import. Probably the only one in the states. Basically it is similar to the US 1982 Hawk, but has triple disc brakes and individual bars, not tube bars. Some other smaller differences too.

Here is one out of the Honda Collection Hall.

Not the "trickest" bike I know, but she loves it and so do I. That motor is actually quite good. I lowered the headlight (my biggest pet peeve on early 80s Hondas) and it has a headlight cowl. Also did some rear fender eliminating, aluminum turn signals and sunk in a more modern taillight in the cowl. Probably shouldn't have, but I was young(er) and it is all reversible. I am going to re-visit the headlight cowl (it was installed when there were not many options) and probably move to something like what I installed on her CB-1.

Today was the day to clean these fairings that came with the bike deliveries two weeks ago. Most were still in bubble wrap. I wanted to get a closer look at them, wash them all off (except the tail fairing which didn't need cleaning), and re-wrap in bubble wrap before I stow them away for future use.

Will start with this tail fairing, which is absolutely perfect. Even has the correct hardware still in place. Should go in a museum or something....lol....

    Thanks Capt and agree!

And there's more.......got the cap off that Blue tank just now! After a 2 day soak with ER, then a wash out with water, then blasting inside with my power washer, then a heavy spray of PB Blaster and another overnight.....she started moving today. I used a pair of pliers and gently moved the key back and forth until she gave way and came off. Now I can continue the rehab of the tank interior. So stoked because this is a NICE tank!

General reminder about mix-n-matching caps and tanks. Don't forget there are 49 state and CA tanks and 49 state and CA caps. CA tanks are vented with an internal line and external spigot. You can't put a CA cap on a 49 state tank.

Your pictured cap is 49 state, as it has the black plastic vent diaphragm. CA caps will not have that.

    OK thanks for the reminder.

I think my first Interceptor was a CA version.

Here's the bottom of the tank........has that extra spigot......

And you can see the cap is different......

And don't get me started on the carbs......they had all kinds of extra stuff! :D

More good news today. My duplicate keys arrived and I was able to confirm I now have a proper ignition key for the RC24 I obtained 2 weeks back. I had removed the seat lock to get the code - then ordered the keys.

Some work still ahead but at least I have a key for it now........stoked!
