Most here know about the run of RC26's that were produced at the Marysville, Ohio (Honda) plant in 1987.

Joe Nelson has a write up here:

    https://v4dreams.com/shop-blog/made-in-the-usa

The VIN plate designation starts with a "1HF" and the script on top reads "MFD by Honda of America MFG, Inc"

As is pointed out by Joe....the serial numbers themselves look to be hand-stamped instead of the neatly printed ones in the standard versions that came from Japan.

I am fortunate to own two these bikes. I don't know that this provides any extra financial value but does make them a cool curiosity item.

I found a frame for sale from one of these on eBay. Get this.......located in Great Britain!

A Japanese bike, produced in America in 1987, and now located (the frame anyway) in bloody ENGLAND!!!

    Now I've seen it all....lol.....

What's that you say? Oh the price? US price is $85.13 (OBO) + $132.39 = $217.52 (plus possible import fee?)

    Small world sometimes...... :)

How odd. :) Seeing bikes in odd parts of the world is kinda a fun search for us when we travel.

I wonder how the availability of second-hand RC26 parts are in Japan ---- as compared to here ---- or the rest of the world.

Availability here has really dropped a LOT this year, it seems.

Not many things are different to the RC24 (Non-US or not, respective to 86 & 87) besides the Crank/Pistons. Oh, and a MPH Speedo and an "INTERCEPTOR" decal outside the US.

    That's a good point.

I learned this when doing searches for parts - to include '86 VFR750F Interceptor and/or RC24. Some of the chain guards, for example are the exact same thing - except for the warning labels - the emissions label in particular.

I bought a fuel tank years ago - for an RC26 - I think you suggested to me it came from an RC24.
