Quick update......thanks to @jkboyd and @gm1777 we are moving along nicely so far.

Looks like I will be sending Brian the OEM decals for almost all of them - the best and most accurate method for reproduction purposes.

Here are a few pics I took showing how I am confirming each decal as what we need.....we are doing the Gold ones on the White bike first.....

Don't even have to know the country code or read anything else, the VIN # stamping confirms it was made in America.

Hey everyone....thought this interesting (and a little bit frustrating)........

The INTERCEPTOR decal arrived yesterday from @gm1777 - this is the one that goes on both sides of the tail fairing.

Stoked.....can't wait to try it out! So today I taped it to the tail fairing of a WHITE '86 I have here at the house and CRAP(!!!).....it's too short!

I had to run over to my storage unit today so decided to take it over there and see how it compares with some of those WHITE RC26's. Turns out......it's a perfect match for the '87's......and a little short for the 86's! I tried it out on 4 of my WHITE bikes and was able to confirm this.

So my next step is to take the rest of the decals over there and see if they are any different between the '86 and '87 years.

    How odd, huh?

The '86 here at my house:

And 2 of my '87's at my storage unit:

Take another look and see if it might appear that way - because the fairing's downward curvature.

I think the font's the same.

Not exactly. Look at the centers of the R and P. And the spacing is different on the E.

First two pics they are different, last two they are the same.

Agree with this. I'm in communication with Brian about what to do about the 2 different years. Freaking HONDA! :D

Funny - guess I never realized the Blue fuel tank also had a pin stripe decal on it.

It's all one piece (unlike the White version - which are 2 different pieces - one for each side).

    IMG_2994.JPG

Can anyone check this part number out and tell me it's the correct stripe decal for the Blue fuel tank?

HONDA 17507-MK8-680ZA STRIPE, FUEL TANK (TYPE1)

    Thanks!

Having a hard time confirming it is for the blue model.

EDIT: MK8 is for Candy Wave Blue model.

And on the parts diagram shows it as wrapping all the way around the rear of the tank separating the grey from the blue.

OK thanks, Capt! Knowing MK8 is for the Blue model will really help going forward. I should have figured that out but sometimes I get distracted in my thinking with other details and miss something like that.

I have the above decal coming here later today or tomorrow...sucker showed up on eBay!

I also placed an order as follows with CMSNL (Netherlands) that should arrive next week:

    17508ML7300ZA

    17531ML7300ZB

    83613ML7300ZB
