Central Coast BBQ/Ride 1st (annual?)

First (annual?) central coast BBQ/Ride get together... **Short Notice**

Fri the Feb 22nd - ride ins
Sat the 23rd - group rides around SLO county led by yours truly
Sat afternoon - BBQ and beer (or beverage of choice)
Sun - hangover ride home

This is just the first of several informal get togethers I hope to have to let more of us CA riders meet in person. All bikes/riders are welcome. RSVP if you want a spot in the spare room or on the sofa or whatever at my place.

 

I am gonna shoot for this Reg. I am spontaneous like yourself. Hopefully this nice weather sticks for awhile. You gonna throw up tents in the back, either that, or any cheap hotels nearby?

 

Cool. the more the merrier. I have 2 for sures so far not counting you guys and one other maybe. I'll probably be riding 2 up and so will Brian(SLOVFR). I am thinking a day trip to somewhere cool for lunch then back to my place for BBQ and beer/wine or whatever. I have 3 available beds, 1 couch, 1 loveseat and lots of floor space. First to speak up gets the beds!

I have to get approval thru the GF....hahaha...no really. Would you be taking that Friday before off so you could head up early....or heading up Friday night to go thru the gridlock fest of LA and get there at the buttcrack of dawn saturday???

 

bring it on. I figure on gathering up around 9- 930 at my place in atascadero. there will be some other types of bikes, too. my bud with the duc is out of town, though...

 

the 101 will get you here the quickest and has a fair amount of scenery. I did enjoy the route I took up through ojai, though. you could detour there then when 33 meets 166 head back over to the 101. that would give you a neat ride on 33 through the mts up to 4000 ft. prob still some snow up there. regardless, I'll be lookin forward to you guys comin up. I'll pm directions and cell #.

 

I am thinkin we might should postpone the ride part of the weekend. The forecast doesn't look good. If any of you guys still want to go for it, I'm willing or we could just hang out and have a get together. Or we could put off the whole deal until another time. I planned on doing another one in the summer with more notice. Let me know...

 

Reg, as you know, this week is not looking good weather-wise. I have Friday off, but it looks like it is supposed to rain Fri & Sat up there. Maybe I will bring my kayak!

 

well, I talked to my wife and she wants to reschedule for later. You know me, I can ride in the rain but I realize that others don't enjoy it too much. I told her I still wanted to do it but I have had a couple canx already. Are you still planning on coming or would you rather I try to find a better weekend?

 

Well, I don't mind riding in the :rain: either, but riding 300 miles in it (thru Smell-A) just to get to your place would not be the most fun thing I can think of. It could be some of this :smow: mixed in as well.

Personally, I would rather reschedule. You said you are pretty spontaneous, right? Well, I am the same...maybe something low-key down the road. I am a spur of the moment planner.

ok. I am thinkin we'll call it rescheduled. the next available weekend for me is mar 21st - 23rd. Who would this work for? If there are enough, we'll make a go of it there.... Does anyone else get weekedays off cause I'm off during the week a lot to make up for the every other weekend that I work...
