The no shipping part puzzles me. Do you mean if someone several states away want the bike, they can't make their own arrangements to have the bike transported?

I'm only asking because I have purchased many bikes by having them brought to me by a transport person or company. Never a problem other than a period of time to wait for the logistics to come together.

I'm waiting on a transport right now in fact of a bike I bought located in Tennessee. Supposed to happen the week of the 22nd. I paid for the bike already so the seller has what he wanted and in return is holding onto the bike until it gets picked up. Of course all this has to be agreed upon during the pre-transaction discussions.

In a perfect world the first words out of the mouth of the prospective buyer is I would have to have the bike transported so you would have to be willing to hold onto it until I get that scheduled.

It's a beautiful bike and I wish you the best in your sale. Just curious. Thanks, Baz

Sorry for the boilerplate that I copied and edited. Not sure how to ship with title transfer but would look into if asked. Hoping to do in person sale.

I can only tell you how I have always done it as the buyer.

I pay for the bike - whatever price we agree on - in full.

The seller then signs the title over but leaves everything else alone on the title so it's just his signature. Then gives the title to the transport person to deliver to me along with the bike.

There have been situations where the seller mailed me the title ahead of time but I'd rather it stay with the bike to avoid anything being lost in the mail.

The bike I have coming later this month - the seller took a photo of the title and sent that to me.

Long distance transactions are always going to require a degree of trust.

A phone conversation (or conversations) are essential to help establish this trust.

A local sale, of course is ideal but when and if the day comes I start listing any of mine, I will be open to buyers would request transport, as long as they are willing to pay for the bike ahead of time. Full agreed upon price.

Happy to help with questions or comments - not trying to interfere here -= just my 2 cents who has some experience as a buyer....
