f1 light coming on

hiya new here can anyone help have 1998 vfr800 and the f1 light is coming on and off

 

Is it flashing a code? There should be a pause in the light flashing, that will give you a code that indicates the fault.

thanks for getting back i have not yet gone into code cause just trying to get the dignostic tool, is there anything else i can check in the mean time
