Front brakes mod question

    My next project is modifying my braking system.
    The plan is to keep my secondary master cylinder, so my rear brake operates when I use the front.
    But I don't want the front to come on when I use the rear.
    I will drill the front calipers internally to link all three pistons, but for that I will need a new master cylinder.
    Does anyone know what size master cylinder I will need, or even better, do you know of any master cylinder that will work and keep the same look?
    I will also replace my lines to steel braided for the front, and remove excess gear that is no longer used from the rear.
    Does anyone know of any problems with this set up?

    Interesting project; I'm heading the other way with a de-link, and have bought CBR600F4i brake parts and VTR1000 fork lowers.

    I did some maths on your question, comparing the ratio of m/c piston area to the total area of the caliper pistons. This gives a handy value for comparing what your hand does to the brake pads. A high value means lots of mechanical advantage but also more lever travel. A low number gives a firmer lever and less ultimate power.

    With just the standard 4 VFR pistons in play, the ratio is 31.4, and that compares pretty well to lots of other Hondas, mostly between 24 and 35.

    With all 6 pistons the number is 44, so you'd have brakes with a fair bit or lever travel and a lot of bite, too much for safety probably.

    If you swap in a 15.87mm master, the number comes out at 28.2, which should be pretty good. The CBR600F4i came out with that m/c and with an integral reservoir same as the VFR.
