I purchased a 1983 VF750f Interceptor... It had been sitting for 2 years in a garage.

Cleaned the carbs, and started fine; accelerates fine but, after idling for a few minutes, it will die unless I throttle up.

Noticed the line-in filter to the fuel pump is full of fuel, however, the line-out to the carbs is not. I can put my thumb over the output and stop the flow of gas very easily.

In your opinion(s) do you think that I need a new fuel pump?

There's a flow test in the manual. Pressure is only 3-5psi
