I would like to keep my exhaust on the right of my Third Gen simular to stock. In the market for a new silencer anyway, can I purchase the upgrade to have it run up higher closer to the seat or are all the photos I am seeing all custom.

Like Scuba said, a custom bent midpipe might be the way to go considering the age of your bike. The other thing you could try is to see if a company such as DelkevicUSA manufactures a high pipe link pipe for your year bike. They do still make one for the 5th gen bikes so they with any luck they may still make one for your bike. They don't list a pipe for the 5th gen on their website but they show one in their eBay store. I phoned them up and they gave me a better price than their eBay store. Might be worth a phone call.
