Hey! New guy from Texas here, just sort of taking a peek at the VFR stuff, I gotta admit I like the bike already just from a technology standpoint. The looks aren't really hurting it any either! Right now my daily driver is a 2007 Suzuki Boulevard M50, which is working out great for me, but later on down the road I would like to add a few more bikes to the stable  So y'all get to put up with me for a bit annoying everybody with questions! I'm pretty sure if I got a VFR I would want a 5th or 6th gen, probably 2000 or newer. What kind of fuel mileage do these bikes get? And whats the riding position - full on tuck or is it fairly upright? Any common problems with these bike? Thats about all I got for now, I'll be lurking plenty and envying the owners out there!

Hello and welcome to the forum. Fuel mileage varies greatly depending on what bike, what type of mods, how heavy your right wrist is, and just sometimes certain motors even though they are identical get different gas mileage. Here is a thread to take a gander at...Fuel Mileage Link. I get about 36-41 to the gallon depending on city or straight highway. Some get as high as 48-50.

Riding position is not racer tuck (unless you are pretty short that is). Most would agree that it has very comfortable ergos, and is great for long distances when compared to other sportbikes.

There is a wiring harness recall certain years of 6th gen bikes (2002-2005 I believe), and the only other think that "might" go wrong, is the R/R (regulator/rectifier) might go bad on some times. There is a fix to make it more resilient at Wire My Bike.

The VFR is a bike that is not the best at anything really, but it does nothing wrong. It is such a great bike, because it does so many things well. It is one of the best all around bikes I would say. If cared for, the V4 motor will usually long long out last a inline 4.
