So When I bought my 2001 VFR800 (used 20,000 miles) it had a Power Commander II on it. no idea what it really does or how to use it. Any information would be helpful. Thanks

The PCII is to over ride the ECU on the bike so you can map the way you like your bike to be tune another words DYNO.......I am not good with techies words I am sure someone will chimp in and give it a better explaination.

You could probably go do Dynojet and either research or download a manual for the PC II from their site. That'll give you the facts.

I think the PC II was a bit more limited in its day. You have the 3 little buttons that you can press and hold to change the mapping (i.e. fuel/air delivery) on the bike. As Scuba said, it basically overrides the factory computer. They are usually put on a bike when someone either made a change (such as an exhaust system) or wants to make a change (such as eliminating the low speed "stumbling").

I had a PC II on my bike; took it off and no noticeable difference to me. That was over 4 years ago.
