    Mother Fucker.

So the headlight cowl I thought was having a reaction, guess not. I wet sanded it and cleared it. Pretty fucking nice. Just a good polish to even it out a bit.

And then this fucking thing. Original Honda finish, sanded down. Duplicolor Primer Filler. Yep, no issues. Duplicolor Nighthawk Black Metallic. Laid down nice. Duplicolor 1K Clear... Fuck. Exact same paint as the cowl.

Reaction. Whatever. Now I "get" to sand it all the way back down thru about 4 hours of work and $$$.

I think I wet sanded thru the clear coat a little for the final clear. No likey. All the problem areas are where I had sanded more relieving some imperfections.

The headlight cowl somehow came out amazing. I cleared it just to spite it, expecting to start from scratch. And then it just worked.

The fender should have just "worked". There was no Chinese paint base.

Because: Paint does whatever the fuck it wants, at whatever point in the project it wants. Which is usually very close to the end.

It really funktified my Friday night. I was so excited to put these aside and just let them cure so I could look at them every time I walked by. Now the fender mocks me.

    Friday night burgers will help.

My stuff just always looks terrible. Even when something came out halfway good and I try to replicate it turns to shite. Good on you for pushing through and painting your own stuff!
    Enjoy the beer and burger!

Sweet ride! Kinda want one but I do like my Challenger. It’s big, cozy, a fun commuter and long distance car. Wife’s Nova.

Worked on the CRX this weekend after a month off of garage work. Got most of the electrical under control and my buddy made a license plate.
    IMG_1702.jpeg

Also got to ride. Took both of the Hawks and CBR out roughly 12 miles each through the canyon.
