    The way they use ceramic cylinder liners and so much DLC is the future, whether we like it or not

    As for the Nikasil coated cylinders, FJR1300 has had them since 2002 to present. I had an engine torn down after 90k miles, and you could still see the crosshatching on the cylinders. Obviously very durable.
