If you have the factory manual it will tell which oil viscosity to use for your climate (i.e. Median temperatures) whether you choose synthetic, synthetic blend or non-synthetic, the changing interval will differ. I use 10W40 full synthetic an change the oil anywhere from 6k-8k miles. Non synthetics usually need to be changed sooner. Then again, not all oils of the same type are created equal so just be cognizant of your miles and change to suit your hearts content.
