I'm very, very happy to be here and I'm the proud new owner of a lovely 83 750 Interceptor. It all happened very quickly but I knew I had to pounce since the guy was practically giving it away. It's my first sport bike. I also have a 78 Kawasaki KE100 and a 78 CB400A and I'm still fairly new to motorcycles. Looking forward to learning a lot here. I have a service manual from eBay on the way. PSX_20201224_190859.jpg PSX_20201224_190957.jpg

That is an awful looking piece of junk you have gotten yourself into there. Just throw a piece of plastic over it and eventually I will get out there to take it away for you.

I can't understand most of these finds where such a wonderful bike is found, it is shy of 40 years old and has low mileage on them. What do people do, buy them, then put them in the dining room and just keep them polished with the silverware?

37 years and 18K miles. Averaging just proud of a thousand miles a year. Just going to and from church on Sundays would more than cover that.

Nice find and welcome to the World. Here, talent is common, advice is cheap, but in some cases, insanity runs supreme. Stick around.

Haha, yes it's a real turd. I'm going to have a huge frown every time I have to ride it!

That is a lovely Interceptor. It brings me back to 1983 when I looked long and hard at that baby, but settled on the spectacular 1983 GS750E which I loved. You should have lots of fun on that sweet VF750. You can throw on pics of your other bikes too. We like them all. Welcome here and stay awhile. And enjoy the Chowda!

The one thing I'm upset about is that some asshat thought it would be a good idea to drill 4 gaping holes in that beautiful fairing and bolt on those dorky "Eurostyle" mirrors. I have handlebar mirrors coming from eBay and I'll just have to plug the holes on the fairing with white plastic push rivets until I figure out if there's a better way to plug the holes. Those silly rabbit ear mirrors have got to go, haha.

I have just had my plastics painted, (well, they are still in the paint shop) . One of them needs to have a hole fixed from a mishap. This shop no longer does plastic welding but instead, uses some sort of an epoxy. I should think if you find out what kind of epoxy they use, if you were to back those holes with something and fill them with the epoxy, some careful and minor sanding and some touch up paint, you should be in good shape. Of course, that depends on your capabilities for this kind of work.

Yep those mirrors are not nice, had the same on my Bol D’or

Luckily no extra holes, found a set of original mirrors in black, so I’m happy now

Welcome in...You're a very lucky dude picking up such a lovely VF.................I'm replacing the wheels on mine and really like the black centres and polished rims on yours. Not sure whether to go with all gold as original on my model, or go for the same finish as yours !!

My in-laws lived in Chester NJ and I must admit, it was a great place to ride (I could borrow a CBR 600 occasionally on our visits).

In general I HATE gold wheels, but I have to admit the originals do look pretty good on a VF. It's a tough choice with no real wrong answer.

    Is 18k over 36 years a 1000 a year, my maths says it’s 500 miles a year

Mind you I could be completely wrong as my brain is screwed after 2 weeks of covid isolation, I have been pretty sick for 14 days
