As some of you know I have a VF1000k Euro unit . I had bought the bike knowing the 2nd gear was Not there. I rode the bike for over 1000 klms and then the 3rd gaer vanished too. So I came here and asked many knowlegable people what could be done ? Jamie D came forth and bestode a great deal of sanity unto me,Firt the thought of damaged shift forks, shift drum, ect.
and the secret way to dismantle the lower half of the engine without taking off the heads ( So greatfull Jamie,) now Im here to post some pictures hope you like them as they show the secret removal..The big prblem was the shift drum Exploded on left & right sides were taken out I retreved all the bits, will show later I forgot it in my pickup as I went to show the main parts guy John at G&W cycle Calgary (Super Place),,

Looking good. So what was the 'secret way' to removing the lower case w/out the heads?

Remove the two top right rear bolts (but don't take out of the case.)Now you have to loosen the cam chain support that is on the oil pump support rail, don't REMOVE IT! pull the cases apart @ 25 lbs pull. to put together, Fishing 16 pound stren and a fabricated nylon plastic 8 in long 1 in wide to place the cam chain guides onto the supports tighten the guide support now, making sure the shift forks slide into the gears. then drop the lower case back onto the upper case. (Engine is inverted ) Torque as per Honda works manual..

Note the 28mm mainshaft washer is almost imposibe to find I found mine in Holland 's CMS and I bought them all...I have another motor to do for a bud..
