Went on a weekend ride. In short do when in northwest AR and southwest MO do: AR 12, 127, 23, 62 MO 76, 86, 13, 90 OK 59 is very pretty Intent was to ride no interstates and try some new state and county roads. Although I had to do a few miles of I-49 (which was still under construction...still LOL) to link up to state highway. Thought to share the routes. They were amazing. Cannot really choose a bad road yonder there. Speeds easily 80 and 2.5 times posted curve warnings. Most Google travel times cut in half in the hills. Maps do not show: I came to Rogers from Jay, OK. I took 86 north from War Eagle to Cassville instead of looping the fast way. On way home I took 90 west from 62 north all the way to Southwest City, MO and did not hop on highway 71 as Google recommended to save time. Entire 90 was amazingly fun. All roads highly recommended. For those who live there and know this already, you are so lucky. I traveled 600 miles to and from for 155 miles of twisties. Worth it all and hope to get out there in a couple weeks, but to Jasper area again. And KS does have some pretty:
Looks likefun. My daughter and her family live outside Fayetteville, AR. Visiting them in October, but can't find any bikes for rent except 800 pound hogs. Pretty country, guess I will have to do exploring in the rental cage.
That will be a beautiful trip in the Fall! Even if in the car! I'm not sure if anything could get me on a hog. Hopefully you will still see interesting things along the way in the cage. Tonight I'll write the short ride report in the Trip thread showing a few things from the weekend. It will include some interesting things I encountered in the small towns. Have a super trip visiting the family!
Post it up. Maybe I can get some ideas. 3 grandsons under 10 yo makes for interesting and sometimes trying times. We may visit Turpentine Creek, home to about 100 big cats.
That sounds like it would be a hit with the boys! Would me...! Posted up under Trips & Events. If anything there are a couple interesting photos. If in Eureka Springs area, on 23 just north of town off Magnetic Road (Christ of Ozarks road), there is an old train depot. Has old cars, old train turnstile, water tower, etc. Super cool if they are into that. Lots of caves and the such everywhere in the areas. Places where they could dig for crystals and stuff. Have a fun and safe trip! Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk
