Last week the LCD screen was completely blank; I flipped the ing. off/on and it came on. Yesterday, the issue is the LCD temperature gauge is flashing 270 degrees F whether the bike is off or on. Also, hitting the TEMP button doesn't show the outside air temp as it's stuck on the flashing 270F. I'm wondering if it's the LCD screen going bad or something to do with the temperature sending unit?

I haven't had any issues with it until today as it's gotten really cold outside. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it, maybe coincidence.

Time, fuel, mileage are all fine. I rode the bike and the entire LCD cluster shut off and on resetting the time.

I'm wondering if anyone else has had this specific problem before and where should I start looking as I'm not so good with electronics.

    Thanks

    Saw your Facebook post.

Maybe the temp sensor is out of range. However the whole display resetting suggest something else. I would check the ground connection. Maybe the sensor ground is flaky and causing the connection to be lost.

Need someone to confirm the flashing by disconnecting a working sensor and to see what the display does.

Definitely - I'm going to pull the tach. out tomorrow and start fiddling around with it and checking continuity/loose connections/wires. Also, considering the coolant/outside air temp button doesn't change is odd too.

I'll be back whether it's fixed or not and give an update in case someone else has this same issue in the future.
