I feel that I just have to say a big "THANK YOU" to Nookiaz here on VFRW. My apologies if this makes Nookiaz feel embarrassed in any way, but I just felt that this was worth sharing.

For a little background on the subject, a little while ago I noticed a thread about a new member from Seattle Washington (Mjay actually) and when reading the thread and saying Hi, I noticed a post by Nookiaz talking about wanting to get a stock exhaust for his 5th gen bike. Apparently the city if Montreal was going to introduce a noise bylaw, and fearing that his bikes after market exhaust might be louder than the new limit would allow, Nookiaz was looking for a stock 5th gen exhaust. Since I had a stock exhaust sitting in the garage not being used and as my wife mentioned "not likely to be re-installed on the bike", both my wife and I thought what better to do with it than to offer it up to someone who needed it. I offered it to Nookiaz and if he was interested, all he needed to pay was the shipping.

Well Nookiaz agreed, and I boxed up the stock exhaust and shipped it off to Montreal. I had asked Nookiaz if he wouldn't mind sending me a post card from his hometown as I like to collect post cards from those that I have sold parts to over the years for various bikes that I have owned. Sometimes I forget to ask about the post card, but for some reason, when I messaged back and forth with Nookiaz I remembered.

When I got home from work tonight, my wife surprised me with a package that had arrived in the mail from Montreal. She asked if I knew who it was from and I said "Well Nookiaz was going to send me a postcard." My wife Angie responded with, "Well, it looks to be a bit more than a post card." I sat down at the table to open the package and saw not only the post card, but a bunch of other stuff as well. Honestly, both my wife and I were completely shocked, amazed and honestly overwhelmed by the generosity of the gifts contained within the package. Not only was there a post card, as he promised to send, but he also included a gift card for "The Gap" as a "gift for the family" and a set of LED tower bulbs for what I assume are the brake/tail lights (bulb type and style is not listed anywhere on the bulb).

I would be the first to admit that I was overwhelmed by Nookiaz's generosity. My wife and I were happy to have one less motorcycle part cluttering up the garage and that it would be put to good use by a fellow VFR owner.
Normally my wife might consider herself to be the emotional one of the family, but this time I was the one that was nearly moved to tears. I honestly had no words to describe how I felt. Here is someone that I hardly know and have never met (except over this forum) and he is offering a gift of generosity for a motorcycle part that he paid to ship to himself.

There have been many times that I have seen generous acts of kindness and assistance between members on this site and throughout the motorcycle community in general, and that is one of the reasons I so enjoy being a member of this community. Everyone I have met here has been very friendly and helpful in every way imaginable.

I merely wanted to make note of Nookiaz's kindness and that too at least THIS forum member, he is one hell of a generous person. Just don't know what else to say.

    NOOKIAZ, You are the best.

    Bill

I'd certainly be willing to offer Joey a character reference for you Randy. Having met you in person, I KNOW you are a good guy. Angie was also glad that she finally met you, and that in itself says something. And then there was little Chantal, TOTALLY smitten with you.

I am very glad that you are so happy from what he gave you, however, to start you gave him an exhaust for free. I guess I am not understanding your EXTREME elation since you already gave him something to help him out. You helped him out, he expressed his gratitude. You did not need to help him, he did not need to give you anything, but you did help him, and he showed thanks.

Also, did you PM this message? It might be more helpful.

Yes, I did PM him with thanks. I think my elation stems from the fact that YES, I did give Nookiaz the exhaust, but I was certainly not expecting such a generous gift in return. My wife and I are certainly thankful, the gift was just unexpected.

If you were a true humanitarian you would have delivered the exhaust to him yourself and got the man drunk on Jagermeister.

My apologies, you're right of course, what kind of friend am I. Next time I will be sure to hand deliver all parts. LOL. For now, I will have to consider myself unworthy. At nearly 3500 km's (2200 miles) that would certainly be an epic journey, and worthy of a ride report. Hmmmmm, I know Randy is retired and always up for a good ride, maybe I could convince him to join me.

Randy loves single malt Scotch and also has a pocket full of "Get out of jail for free" cards so it could be interesting.
