    OK

Two Stroke Exhaust Note (a.k.a rngdng (Lane)
    gave me an idea.

I would like to do a poll on who gets frustrated by Harley? Its a yes or no question too. You only have to be frustrated by one thing and no explanation is needed.

My vote is YES, Harley wannabes, bikes, manufacturing and the whole Harley worshipping culture frustrates me to the point of exhaustion.

    NEXT!

    LOL!

If you are going to answer both then you need to explain what you DO hate.

I think to "hate" them, I would have had to love them at one time. I'm indifferent toward them. Don't care...

Picky, picky... I hate that many people try to buy an image, rather than do it the old-fashined way and work for it. And I guess that it bothers me that such a low level of performance costs so much.

I dislike the attitude of Harley riders more than the bike itself. Buying american is great, I guess when you spend so much money on something American as Harley Davidson you "buy" the attitude too. Hell Id have an attitude too if I thought I overpaid for something. LOL.

I hate 'em. I'm working on a friend's Sportster right now. Just getting it ready for summer. Everytime I look at it, I think "I'm glad I have 5 Hondas, and not Harleys"! It's heavy, low on power, uncomfortable, and with that stupid "Peanut" gas tank, it will only go about 80 miles between gas stops. But then again, 80 miles is all you could stand without a rest stop on that thing.

I am reminded of what a fellow bicyclist told me one day as we were scared s***less after one of them with insanely loud pipes passed by us (too closely) on a beautiful mountain ride one fine morning..."all that noise just to get down the road..." Way too many times I am in a beautiful natural setting only to have my silent reverie interupted by that "patented" infernal noise! But, if you have a small, um, you know, ya gotta do somthin'.
    YES is my vote.

I have suspected for years that their parents never let them make noise as children, and that included no playing cards in the spokes of their bicycles. The absolute WORST is really loud pipes on a motor that is now running too lean. It gets that really sharp, piercing tone.

Damn, Bubba, see what you've started? There goes my blood pressure...

I don't remember where I read this comment, maybe it was here somewhere, but it went something like this:
"Harley Davidson-Turning gasoline into abnoxious noise without the adverse e
effect of producing horsepower for over 105 years."
I don't really mind the bikes in particular, just the attitude that "i paid so much for this big shiny lump that I rule and you suck."and "Look at me in my black bad ass t-shirt and leather chaps walking around the bar like king shit of turd island"
I better stop myself before I really get going....this thread might last all winter.

Like everyone else I hate the attitude. I stopped by the HD/Buell dealer a few weekends ago to see when they were getting the new Buell in. I was in full gear, when I walked in it was like the Bar seen from Animal House, I swear the whole place got very quite for about 3 seconds. I looked around and saw one guy that worked there that had a blue streak in his hair and thought "that's got to be the Buell guy." Sure enough, he even laughed about and said "how did you pick me out?" We talked for a while and he said he would hook me up with a test ride when they got a demo bike in. Even funnier, on the way out, there were three fat guys in leathers giving me the stink eye standing by the door. Right as I got even with them I said "BOO" and three all flinched and stepped back.. Too F’ing funny. When I got out to the parking lot 2 SUV's pulled in with dad and the kids. All the kids ran past a whole row of HD's and stopped right in front of me and started asking all kind of questions. Is it a race bike, how fast is it, can you wheelie it, ect. One of the dads acted like I was a Meth dealer and hurried his kids inside the other one was cool and talked for a few minutes. The kids wanted to hear it and when I fired the bike up the dad (HD owner) even said "Man' that sounds good!" All in all, a good day.

I guess I would say that I like Harleys. I grew up with them. My dad used to ride me, my sister, my step mom and himself on his superglide. My sister still has the bike. It's kind of a heap cause she refuses to change anything on it for nostalgia. I pretty much like all bikes, though. The attitude that some of you refer to, I don't care much for, though. Pretty much all of us could ride a Harley now if we wanted. My opinion is, if you ride for yourself then get what you like, if you ride for what everyone else thinks then ride a Harley. I hate that it's that way now, and maybe I'm wrong but that's how I feel. I'll probably still get another Harley eventually, though, if I don't build a full on custom v-twin ground up.

I don´t hate them. I just think they are the most useless and overprised kind of bike you can get.

Don't really care. They are not for me. If someone wants to pay that much that's their issue personally I would rather spend the extra on Ohlins etc.
