    Hello all,

I just found this site last week and have been reading everything I can about the VFR and gear.

I have not ridden in quite a few years, and my wife has sparked my growing...obsession. She is ate up for a motorcycle, I will attend the MSC with her as she has never ridden and it has been about ten years for me, so it will be a great way for both of us to get into the swing of things.

Reasoning with her was all I could do, but there is a little Ninja 250 on order for her first bike (I know a 10 year old bike would be much better, but reasoning has failed thus far) even though I could find her a better match at less cost, I am half relieved it is a small mild mannered bike.

Which brings me to my situation, I grew up with dirt bikes, and some street bike experience, and remember drooling over the flashy new red white and blue interceptors of the early 80s. I have always been a huge fan, so I have begun my search.

It seems here in FL, that prices are very high and good used interceptors are tough to find. I looked at a 06 yesterday where the wifes bike is coming from, has 480miles and looks brand new. I can get it for $8999 out the door tax, title and tags with a tank of gas, but this seems a bit rich. It is about as close to new as I will find here, but I am on the fence on this one.

Anyway I just wanted to say hello, and get your thoughts on this bike. Of course I can talk myself into it very easily, but I am still unsure. There are a few around at the dealers here and prices are all up in that neighborhood.

    See ya

    Mike

The biggest problem I found when looking for a VFR was the relative scarcity compared to the more popular sportbikes. I ended up getting it from the next state over. That price is a bit high for that VFR, but not too bad. They are not cheap bikes, even a used 2002 with 10k miles will run you $5000 or so.

welcome to the site Mike. i've got an '06 and love it. i think the price might be a little bit high...maybe by $500.00 or so. on the other hand, the thing isn't even broken-in yet. i guess it all depends on the color...if it's white it's worth a little more. ha ha! good luck w/ the decision.
    cheers,
    Jeff

    Heh haa,,

Yeah the white is sweet looking! I looked at one the other day, but they want just shy of 10K for that one(06-07 I think). I really love the Yellow, but they are tougher to find than hens teeth here.

This one is black, and like I said it is as new as used can be.

Thank you for the info guys.

    Mike

AK, get some quotes from other dealers, seems like 7000 is an average price for new 06-07 these days. Maybe the delaer will haggle? Maybe he'd throw in some gear if you gave asking price? Worth a shot. Welcome aboard.
