I say a nice wave. So far I've only had one kid wave to me, a neighbor actually as I was riding by, but I didn't notice until I was just passing so I didn't get a chance to wave back.

Ha ha ha, wow thanks for the replies so far! Although I don't know if the mafia are willing to reschedule their usual kneecapping for some kids

Yeah, kids rock and waving/wheelying/shooter mcgavining shows them that bikers are cool!

When I'm stopped at an intersection sometimes I get kids waving and they love it when I rev up the engine.

Now I gotta come up with a good pickup line if I see a hot single mom...

I am all for being the ambassador for sport bikes. Maybe when they grow up and buy their own bikes they will get Honda sport bikes instead of hogs.

FINALLY!!! Someone who understands my "language".

Squids don't like me. I have this nasty little habit of telling them exactly what I think of them & others like them.

Wave back because 30 years ago I was the kid waving and that was partly the reason I got into bikes because the people on the bikes were nice enough to wave back!

Definately wave with all five fingers and a head nod if possible.

1 finger waves are for guys that don't wave at all. Though most are waving these days.

I wave at their mom, point at them, then point at the yellow Honda wing on the tank. I am often shaking my head up and down while saying,"yeah, baby" in my best Austin Powers voice during the entire encounter while lasts no longer than 1 minute. This is typically followed by brisk acceleration away from the scene.

Always give an energetic return wave. Heck, kids are cool and being nice is free.

Plus, in a few short years, they will turn into punks and you'll want to choke them out...

kids throw water - Name that state tag

riding home last night in the left lane of the DC beltway - 4 lanes of traffic moving at 65-80mph.

I pulled in behind a mini-van with tinted glass. After to the far left and seeing the woman driver talking on the cell phone in her large rear-view mirror, I scooched over to the right side of the "passing" lane to see if it was worth waiting for her to move right or go around once we cleared the truck next to us. When I saw some motion from the right rear window and a little hand with a little cup pushes into the opening at the back of the side window and dumps whatever liquid that was left into the slipstreakm - into the fairing and all over my aerostich & helmet.

due to the size of the hand I didn't salute the backseat. I did pull around and see the two ladies in the front seat laughing as I stopped to salute them. :flip: They stopped laughing.

This is yet another reason for all the gear all the time.

What state did their van's tag have on it? (hint: KC)

You need to remember one thing about NJ drivers. They would rather you punch their mother in the mouth instead of you getting in front of them on the road. If you are going to actually get in front of them, you can bet your ass that they will make it inconvienent.

F NJ. Just remember, there is nothing wrong with NJ that getting rid of 3/4 of the idiots that live there can't fix.

Definitely wave back. No smile because I'm behind a dark smoke shield.
