    Hi all,
I just bought a used bike, and the previous owner got wax/polish on the vinyl seat. It's stained white in a few areas - but otherwise in great condition [not ready to replace it]. Any advice for getting that wax stain out of the vinyl or dying the seat to mask it?

    Thanks,
    Steve

A wet magic eraser might do the trick but test first!!!!!! Those erasers can dull things sometimes. You can try a wet microfiber cloth first.

Try some smooth peanut butter. I know it sounds funny but this is a detailing trick for getting wax off of trim on cars. I would put a little peanut butter on it and use a microfiber towel to rub it in/ take it off... If that does not work you could also use a trim restore product. I personally use Poorboys detailing products and they have a product called trim restore which is excellent at getting stuff of of vinyl/ leather/ pleather and it does not leave it slick like armorall.

Thanks for all the thoughts. I found someone online recommending Forever Black dye if all else fails. Anyone got any precedent with this product?

    How did you make out?
No I don't have any experience with forever black but you could check out some detailing forums like DetailCity - Auto Detailing Autopia - Autopia Home for some professional advice. I am a member of both as detailing is a hobby of mine that sometimes brings in some extra money. I am also a volunteer FF so keeping the trucks in pristine condition requires some knowledge of products as well as techniques that you will learn by checking out some detailing forums and asking questions.
