Just a short intro. I'm a first-time VFR owner, been riding since '79, mostly on ST1100's since '95. A little over a year ago, my wife and I decided to step over the line and go full touring mode (03 GL1800). 20k miles and 2 trips to Deal's Gap convinced me that I needed a bit more 'sport' in my touring. Last Thursday I picked up my VFR. Work and a visit from both our daughters down from Anchorage have kept me home since picking it up. This will change tomorrow. Living in SW La. means that twisties are non-existent, so we make trips to Texas hill country or Tennessee to have fun.
The VTEC engine is a different animal from anything I've ridden before. Just having a little difficulty waiting to get through the brief break in period to get out and play a little harder. The VFR is definitely going to be resting in my garage for a long time. Awsome bike, big grins...only downside is we are just about to start lovebug season here. Lots of Honda polish will be used in the next month or so.

Also recently purchased a pearl black 2006 model. Not that it didn't already look nice as is, but have fitted a dark MRA screen and polished staintune exhausts and it looks sensational. Happy riding when you get a chance.

The Staintune pipes are on my list. Just had to bring the bike into the shop, it started popping headlight/tail light fuses. Hopefully, I'll have it back in a few days. At least I will be out of town for a week, so I won't be pestering the mechanic until I get back. Enjoy...

    Legs,

For some reason the lovebugs have been very mild this season. This may be one of the only benefits of having a hurricane blow through our corner of the state last fall. I note you're from Birminham, Al. I'll be passing through your fine city Wednesday afternoon, enroute to Birmingham, Mi. I won't be riding the VFR, but will be on a Honda product, my '03 Goldwing. It cuts a larger swath through the pesky lovebug population. I have a personal theory that lovebugs are a genetically engineered critter, developed by Dupont, so they can continue to sell more auto paint.

No mods are required for the PIAA bulbs, just remember to NOT touch the glass part of the bulb...you'll love them.

Hi frkdaddy00. Welcome to the forum. Sorry for the delay in welcomeing you. For your exhaust, try looking at http://www.exoticsportbikes.com. Not sure if they have the best prices, but they have have numerous brands to choose from. The PIAA H-4 shuold fit. I personally have a set of Silverstars in my 93. I use them in my car to. Much better than stock. You may have to bend a tab cack as fro some reason they do not line up, at least on mine, witht he slots in the headlight housing.

    Vinny
