 Nice pic eh. I'll keep those pics for my collection.
They don't need to prove you are the one driving/riding.
They just need to prove that is your vehicle.
So in addition to that pic, they send you a close up of your license plate.
No points taken. Just pay the ticket.
My suggestion if it happens to anyone... pay it asap and forget about it.
the longer you take to pay it, the more  you get.

They actually tested these cameras on "Mythbusters" and couldn't 'outrun' them. Read about it here. They set it up on a track and it snapped a perfect pic even at 136 MPH!. The guys on "Top Gear" succeeded, but it took more than 170 MPH to do it...

    "Top Gear" YouTube clips:
    Honda Civic Type R - Failed @ 129
    Mercedes CL55 AMG - Failed @ 148
    TVR Tuscan S - Succeeded @ 170+

    So...good luck! lol

Frank... I haven't checked the mail today, but I'm sure I got the same two tickets that you did. I did slow down, but not enough, I'm sure. Nozzle saw the second camera flash three times as we went through. At least I didn't get that ticket just before the Beltway, that one would have involved an impound. Great picture though... :)

Nozzle refuses to check his mailbox after I PM him about these.
    Good luck to you.

And yeah... for a moment, I was sure that beltway cop was after you. lol

It was a fun ride... on a brighter note.

Two of the guys I know have these just for the cameras. Here they made it so you have to have a rumble strip before each light with a camera.

yodasmile Some buddies of mine, cover their license plates with the feet or hand. They use this a lot on tolls, since they are camera enforced. Of course, the only drawback is that u need to know what lights have cameras. Not legible or incomplete, no ticket. Those mugs multiply like guinea pigs.

yah, know I may just have let Frank have my ticket, since I was leading. That is a really pretty picture thought Frank. I'll go check the mail box now.... I went through my inbox on the counter... no ticket.

This means that riding in front of Frank is a great way to beat these cameras, or
This means that the RWB 25th Anniversary 6th gen is invisible to radar, or
I live further away, so have not gotten the ticket in the mail yet, or
    am just camera shy

I am a big fan of the picture/radar law enforcement. Its a great source of income, and hopefully it makes people drive a little more cautiously/slowly. There are a couple in springboro and middletown where I am from. I am greatful for them, if it has caused even one person from running a red light.

    Back in the day

When I was running a PHX Airport office for the Summer, I got tired of all the Mobile units that took pics of your mug & the rear of your vehicle.

When noticed, it created massive traffic slow up's & being on a bike in traffic in 110 plus degrees in full gear was a tad hot.

I got to thinking that I'd just go on more laned roads that moved faster (longer way to get to point A & B).
Still had those Portable systems, so I took a piano hinge & installed it to my plate holder & got a Automobile pull choke & cable & mounted it to the hinged plate.

And wa-la, a mechanical unit that i had control of that I can pull up & lower my plate with ease.

I even forgot it was up once after a notorious intersection & got pulled over for no plate.

I said your kidding to the officer, went behind the bike & said "Wow" then said - Oh look, it's still there , it must of got bent up from that intersection dip & my tyre.
Proceeded to act like I used a lot of energy to bend it back & said, there is that good. They Said yes & have a nice day as they drove off

Now day's I just leave the plate off in my back pack, & if I get pulled over, I just say it was falling off or fell off & I have it in my pack.

Still no tickets for no plate & from the camera police

Just remember; the cameras are NOT about easy revenue. It is to make the world a better place, and to keep us safe.
    :soapbox:

Personally, I have no problems with the red light cameras, provided that the timing makes sense. Speeding cameras are ridiculous, perhaps with the exception of problematic areas.

Here's an idea; with all the revenue that is collected from the speeding cameras, invest the money in driving simulators (like a flight simulator). Before you can get a drivers license, you need to pass a series of emergency maneuvers in a wide range of circumstances, and demonstrate a reasonable degree of vehicle control and driving courtesy. Perhaps every ten years or so we should have to do a follow-up test to ensure that our basic skills are still intact.

Or use the money for ANYTHING that would contribute to problematic drivers not being so problematic. I guess my biggest problem is that our tax dollars are spent on programs designed to extract yet more money out of our pockets without any sort of long-term solution or plan in mind.

    OK, end of rant.

That's a very good idea of having a test every 10 years and even having a driving simulator. In Germany you have go through a rigorous test and it's actually pretty expensive. But their accident/death rates are pretty low even though they have autobahns.

I am all for a reform in the current driver license and highway systems. We shouldn't allow anyone with a pulse to get a driver's license. I know that might sound hypocritical from a "professional po-po runner" like myself but consider that in my 12+ years of driving I have been in a grand total of ONE accident and I wasn't even IN the car. Someone backed into my car on a parking lot.

I attribute that to my high awareness of the situtation around me. I speed all the time and yet some people who follow the speed limit scare me because they don't pay attention. They're either on the phone or dealing with kids in the back or daydreaming. Lack of attention kills, not speed.

When I first started riding I used to read a British bike zine (Rider? I can't remember) Anyway, that's how I learned what a Fireblade was and saw all the cool bikes the UK gets. Well, there was a special aticle on "Gatsos" and how to aviod them, were they are at and even heavy suggestions to sabatoge them with tips on how to approach them so you won't be seen! Next months issue had a letter the editors reprinted from some Minister of Police guy who said how irrsponsible and its against the law to print such suggestions. The zine's response? One of the editors dressed up like an old lady going to tea and was giving the bird to the camera as a response to the official who sent the letter in LOL!

I was laughing my butt off in the Barnes & Noble store and showed it to my girlfriend (now wife) who asked "What's a Gatso"?

I'm wondering if Joey_Dude has relatives in the UK:smile:

Well for me I would fight something of that nature. If they cant tell its you driving then the cant enforce or punish you for something they cant prove. I have information straight from the traffic division that in Red Light Cameras in Ca., if the cannot see the face of the driver no ticket goes out. We do have laws that state innocent until proven guilty and by the Constitution, you can have your day in court....... I wear my tinted shield :) but perhaps we need to adjust our rear plates as well .....

That argument doesn't fly in traffic court. I tried it the very first time I got a speeding ticket. The judge's response was, "Innocent until proven guilty applies in criminal cases, not traffic cases." I swear that's what he said. When you think about it, it makes a certain amount of sense. Civil cases do not require the same burden of proof that criminal cases do, and most traffic cases are basically civil (i.e. if you lose you pay a fine, but don't go to jail).
