Because it is a great all around bike and you will love it. A better question for you to ask yourself is...."why shouldn't I get a VFR?

Fast, yet comfortable bike with a unique sounding motor and great looks.

Or you could opt for something that will kill your shoulder, back and knees while sounding like a flock of angry wasps as you ride around...your choice.

    Why Buy a VFR...reason #301...

Take a look at the swingarm. See the word ELF? That is the French Petroleum Giant that sponsered Honda Racing Corps' efforts and spent umpteem$ in conjunction with HRC developing this very sophisticated suspension bit. How about possibily the smoothest engine in all motorcycledom? I don't know...lets see, which motorcycle engine can be smoother...Honda's 1300?...maybe the Goldwing...possibily the big Beemer...the Kawasaki Concours?...I don't know...don't really get to ride these bikes. I know it ain't Moto Guzzi. Just my opinion. Thanks.

How many bikes can you name that the owners are willing to roll the odometer over on?
Folks always ask me, what kind of bike is that? I used to ask the same question, now I have the answer.
    It's a VFR.

Why? Because you've asked this on a VFR enthusiast forum!

Because I said so.... Now. Do as you're told....

Honestly there are lots of other bikes out there that do various things better than the VFR but none do all of them better than the VFR.

Track day YUP, Commute to work.. YUP, long ass drive... YUP just name it.

Shortly after buying the damn thing I wold my wife that I was going to build a collection of bikes. The issue I am running into is that I can't come up with a reason to purchase any of the other bikes since the VFR already does what the other bikes I am looking at as well or better than them.

Touring.. you might be thinking Yamaha FJR or one of the Beemers.
They are more expensive and do the same job as the VFR.

Sport... You might be looking at a GSXR or a 600RR
They are not as expensive as the VFR but the VFR can do most of what they can do out on the roadway and you're more comfortable for longer periods of time.

Commuting... you don't have lots of choices you get to use what you have. The VFR is more comfortable when riding into work than an RR or GSXR but just as responsive with most drivers abord and you can turn a commute into fun ... The VFR is more agile than any cruiser out there and considering the number of cars on the road, accident avoidence is where you need to be not slow and lumbering.

Had I bought the 1300 VTX that day instead of the VFR, I would already have an RR and an FJR. But NOOOOO! I had to buy the VFR....

Maybe I'll get a Ducai monster or a Triumph Bonnevile or a Truxton..You know.. For looks . I bet they could be fun.

Simple answer. VFR is NOT the best bike for anything, but it is the only bike I that I know of that can do everything right.

For all those good reasons and many others that will appear here along with: as I am walking back to my '06 this morning having picked up a coffee on my way into the office I see a tuner parked behind my bike and its driver on his cell phone while he's walking around my bike. I am thinking the worst. He's hit my bike and he's on the cell calling his insce. broker.

Nope: he's just admiring the Veefer. "This is one f*cking gorgeous bike", say's he.

"F*cking right", says I "and a sweet ride she is too"

As others have said, the VFR is an "all rounder". Long distances and also able to handle the tight, twisty stuff.

I'm really surprised that nobody has said, "If you have to ask the question you probably shouldn't get one."

If you enjoy compliments from random people, get a VFR. I've had Gixxer people, Harley people, and even just random cagers say something nice about it.
