Interesting! They're calling it as a V5? Wow, and we thought we were riding red headed stepchildren before....

I'm glad I didn't buy the new '08 CBR. I'll wait for VFR.

Yikes.....a 1000cc V5? Woo hoo! I just wonder if this article is :bs: or the real deal unlike the past umpteen years of teasing.

I wonder if this is VTEC or what?

Seems like Honda is working backwords here.... The RC212V is an 800cc V4, but they're claiming ties to the RC211V. I have a feeling that it won't share anything but the basic engine specifications regardless of which way they go. I'm not looking for a 200+hp 20,000rpm+ screamer.

If this report is true the '09 VFR1000 looks to be very expensive, think I'll keep my 800 until the Gen 7 becomes a discounted old thing.

I don't know, there's a few things a miss here. Nice mock up but. Some patent drawings I've seen show it will not have the SSSA. this looks like it has one, which I'd rather it did. But, and I was pretty sure I saw turn indicators in the mirrors in those drawings which make sense since the CBR1K has em, the patent drawings also showed it in both V5 and V4 configuration with that frame thats showing up in the drawing here, So? Hmmm. I like the exhaust part, good way to keep the weight low and the front looks good, less the color from the drawing, But yea it's all still Mythical till I see it then ride one. Nice idea though. Some one has been busy, so we're not the only ones craving for one of these.

I think that somebody is just like stoking the fire, and leaks these tidbits out there to get everybody all excited for nothing. Probably is just somebody f-ing with us.

Who knows anymore..... We'll see in September! Its an intiresting idea though to give the VFR a V5 and cover the big high speed power tourer and still have a unique engine configuration for the current VFR owners to drool over. I wonder how a V5 will sound in street trim.... With all of the Euro regs the aftermarket will be chomping at the bit to get pipes on one of those!!

3 major things lead me to question whether this is the "real deal".

    1) The front turn signals. It is very obvious that this photo is chopped but they should have been able to make it look more convincing. Just about every bike going these days has signals integrated into the mirrors. I would think Honda would like to stream line the parts supply as much as possible.

    2) The rear turn signals. Every VFR since the early 90's has featured the All-In-One rear light assembly. Why would they go back to stalks when they simply are not as good & no one would want them back?

    3) The wheels. They are carbon copies of the SAME wheels they've been using since 1998. I refuse to accept Honda would do this on a bike that is that much of a radical leap forward.

I am very obviously hopeful, but at the same time, I am not holding my breath.

On a different note, you know what would be totally freaking off the scale awesome? Make a bike that is a VER 1000. Vee EIGHT Racing. I mean seriously, how cool would it be to have the worlds smallest V8?

    KC-10 FE out...

I called my friend on it in Torrance, CA. & he said something is coming, "BUT" to Europe 1st, & maybe to N. America (Yea, that means you to Canada) in 2010 or 2011

He also said don't count on a SSSA as well

Man, a VFR 1000 would be sweet. I'm not getting my hopes up, though. The VFR fills an incredibly small niche market in motorcycle sales, so there can't be much impetus for Honda to come out with a totally redesigned model.

But yeah, I'm dreaming. An 09 release would be perfect timing to replace my F4i.

I also hope this is true, as I would love a 7th generation VFR. Maybe I can hold my breath...at least until Fall.

I'm not too caught up in the artist's concept rendering image... I *am* keen on a V-5 tourque monster that my little inseam can straddle - the 2 cylinders in the back would allow for a narrower frame where I need it most. The electronics need to work better than what Hayden's getting from the HRC team though
