I have been looking aroung for a rear hugger/chain guard (or perhaps even just chain guard) for my gen 6. I would love for it to be carbon fiber as it would go very nicely with my black wheels. It would also help eliminate the dirt that builds up on my tail light and license plate. The stock chain guard is funtional of course but really isn't attractive, especially with the tire info sticker.

I have only seen a hugger/guard for a gen six on ebay once and it was going for just under $300. Naturally the seller had it listed in the ever-so annoying fashion: the title was that it was carbon fiber but in the auction page it is a carbon fiber paint/sticker. At this point I would settle even for a [well painted] jet black.

I have seen a forum post on VFRD about fabricating your own body panels from fiber glass and have thought about experimenting.

    Any ideas?

I've been thinking that would look really cool on my bike.. I've done a few searches and come up with nothing.

Please let me know if you find a decent one.

I have an NWS carbon hugger I'm very happy with, but I understand there've been some problems with quality since they were taken over by pyramid plastics (uk firms).
If you're interested in fabricating something have a look at this site:

Contact member rivcyko. I believe he makes a high quality one, at least from what I've seen him do over on VFRD.

rivcyko, those all look great! How did you come up with the design? Do you fab them and then have a local shop do the paint?

I'm with ya, Wesley. Didn't buy one off ebay but the quality of ones there doesn't look to great at all. That and far too expensive for the product they are selling.

Thanks for the advice all! I will check out the links that you all sent and see what I come up with. Most likely I will just buy a black one; I'd rather have it match the wheel than the plastic.
