    on ebay

    Item number: 8070028865

$43 for a Honda Textile armored jacket seems reasonable

i was about to spend $60 on a Joe Rocket Rio mesh jacket, but this one seems to be alot more protective, which is what i need right now i think, seeing as i dropped my bike 4 or 5 times the first day.......

i'm new to this whole motorcycle thing, got a nice Symax helmet from my brother, he snagged it up at a local shop from a friend that works there, was a scratch n' dent for $50, just a few scratches is all, nothing it wouldnt get in it's first month or use anyways from a new rider, so it's just "broke in"

now all i need is some armored pants i think.....but for now, i'll be doing the blue jeans thing with the jacket and helmet......but thats better than what i did wear, blue jeans and a t-shirt :yuck:

oh, might get some gloves too.....but gloves have always bothered me, i really hate not being able to feel everything i touch.....

    suggestions?

deals on pants anyone? (36" waist 29-30 inch inseam, yeah, i'm a short guy, 5'4")

At first I hated gloves, but after wearing the same pair for a while you really get used to them, and riding without would feel awkward. If "God forbid" anything should happen, you would really be glad you had gloves on.

I definitely recommend gloves. If you should go down at any sort of speed, guess when will automatically go to the ground first? Also, it's very common for rocks to fly up in front of you while riding, and if they hit your non-gloved hands, they will sting! Definitely need gloves. Congrats on the jacket, sounds like you got a great deal!

ok, well, i will get some gloves then.....probably would anyways, but the thought of a rock hitting my hand at high speed doesn''t sound too nice

    thanks

    one thought.

With the nice weather upon us, (ish) I would really recommend gloves. The only thing that hurts as much as a rock hitting your hands when you are doing 50-60mph is hitting a bee. (I speak from experience on this one) These pollen laden needles of death hurt like heck at anyspeed and if they aren't bugjuice when they hit you, then they get REALLY upset with you for bothering them. Seems that fruit farmers like to keep hives onhand for pollenation purposes. OUCH!
