4G gauge illumination question

Hey gang -

Can anyone tell me if the gauges are fully illuminated in dim light (like in a garage)?

I seem to have a dim spot in between the right side of the speedo and the left side of the tachometer. I can fully read the gauges at night, so it's not really a problem, but I figured I would see if anyone else feels this is "normal".

There is a bulb there according to the service manual, but I don't want to go through all of the steps (remove side fairings, remove upper fairing, remove gauge pod, replace 10 cent bulb, reverse of removal...)to get to that bulb if I don't really have to.

 

I guess it comes down to whether or not you can put up with the dim spot.

 

Mines fine all the way across, so more than likely its a burned out bulb. is it worth the trouble to replace? thats up to you on how much does it bug ya?

 

I'd do it on the next spark plug change.

 

I'm kind of a perfectionist, so yeah - it bugs me, especially in really dim light (dusk, etc.).

Too bad I changed my plugs about 2000 miles ago... :unsure:
