All, I have a sick bike. Symtoms: Riding along and all of a sudden, the bike violently lurches as if to jerk the throttle on/off, and the FI light comes on and the tach is all over the place. Repeats randomly in any gear at any speed. One time it even conked-out as I approached a red light.Oh, and call me crazy, but I'd swear this happens only after I make right hand turns. Assuming Fuel Injectors, but as to the exact cause I am unsure. Are there typical things that can cause this? What are the top "diagnoses" I should be thinking of? Would a trial of injector cleaner in the fuel be advisable? I am mechanically dysinclined, so any help here would be great. Thanks!
Leading up to my RR failure and the day it finally went, I was having similar issues. Although the battery had plenty of juice, once the system voltage drops below a certain point, the fuel injection would cut out. So if it's not a plugged fuel filter or crap in your tank causing that, don't forget to check electrical.
Good thought, thanks for the reply. I will check it. It would be unlikely, though, I switched out my r/r two years ago.
Only after making right turn??? Do you remember if you used the turn signal light? It could be torn wire in the light. These injections are week for bad ground wires.
