Hi! I need to transport my '07 VFR on a Kendon trailer, but I am afraid that if I use the tie downs on the lower fork braces, the hooks on the trailer are too far "outboard" and would cause the straps to rub the inner fairing. True?

If so, any siggestions (brand and/or online retailer) for the handlebar type straps that slide over the handgrips?

    Thanks!!

    Carl

I have a "Canyon Dancer" and love it. I mostly use mine to hold the bike on the lift table, but have used it for transport and it worked great!!

I see that they come in about three different sizes or widths.... What do you measure?

I didn't see any other sizes when I bought mine. It measures about 36" fully extended. It will even fit the wide bars on my ACE. It is plenty long for my VFR.

I've got one, too. It works great, keeps the straps completely away from the fairings. Mine measures 28" completely extended. I use it on an '07. Here's the link to their sizing page: Canyon Dancer Inc..

I think the 32" like Eddie has would be more versatile for you...who knows when you'll want to transport another bike with wider bars?

I'm not familiar with the trailer you refered to but I trailered mine on a standard 3-rail bike trailer using soft straps on the lower fork brace and straps on the rear. 700 miles with no problems or damage to a new bike. I agree with Eddie though, if you can find the canyon dancer straps, they seem to be the preferred method.

I have the canyon dancers and they work really well. There are 2 types. The original which I have and the canyon dancer 2. The 2 has hard end cups that slip over the grips so you need the right size. The originals work great and one size fits all. Be careful when you do use your tie downs to attach them to the trailer. If you use a ratchet type don't go overboard tightening them.
I use the Ancra tie downs and have no problems. The rear is easy. Just hook the bracket above the rear foot peg.

Thanks for the input! I got a 32" set and they appear as though they will fit my needs just fine.

What do you hook / fasten on to in the rear with a Gen 6 VFR?

I have ordered a set of Canyon Dancer II straps, but I am not yet comfortable that I have the right mounting point for the rear.

I was going to use that exposed loop on the rear of the frame by the footpeg mounts for the rear straps.
