Hello all. this is my first time on the site so I wanted to check it out. I have recently inherited a 1992 VFR 750 that is in excellent condition. The only problem, it sat with gas in the tank for 5 years. I have drained the gas tank, added gas with a carb cleaner, and for the last two weeks have been starting it by priming the carbs. It will idle okay, as long as the choke is still on. Because we are really not progressing any further, and I know that gas is getting into the carbs, I think the floats are probably sticking. I have decided to do what I originally should have done, and that is take the carbs apart to clean them. has anyone out there done that, and if so, how difficult of a job is it for a beginner?

Can't lie to you. It's going to be a tough job for a beginner.

Big job with lots of little parts that don't like to be put in backwards. Sold my last bike rather than do it myself.
