    Rember those toyota comercials where they bash the truck, submerge it, light it on fire then start it...

    VFR's got it beat.

    Hopefully you get a speedy resolution on your claim so you can be back on a shiny new VFR ASAP. Will keep an eye out for that bridge / corner next time, lost my Ventura Headlight protector last year on the Thunderbolts after hitting uphill mid corner double washouts, wasn't time to avoid so rode them teeth gritting stood up on the pegs dirt bike style then dropped over again.

    Was referring to the original Smokey & the Bandit, not sure I've seen " White Lightning " always thought " Deliverance " was Burts best.

    Hey MLC, my best mate also lost his Ducati 999S to the water, while it was staionary in his garage, on its paddock stand!

    it seems the local dam burst and flooded his house.The 999 was up to the instruments in water. they thought about writing it off but they rebuilt it in stead. all new electronics, wiring loom, full engine tear down and rebuild.
    it now runs like a trooper.
    funny thing was, he said he knew it wasn't good when he saw his refridgerator come floating past in the lounge!

    BTW, it did write off his BMWR1200GS which was parked right next to it!

    all the best for your future purchase.

    :eek::eek::eek:

    As much as that sucks, you are one lucky dude!! Water is much better than solid contact with a stationary object. That could have been soooo much worse for you.

    I was in the same boat when I lived in Alaska. I came around a mountain pass on Kodiak island and saw a herd of buffalo hanging out on the icy road, and a guy in an truck coming the other direction, so I decided to be a nice guy and pull off to the side and let him pass as the buffalo sat there looking at us. well.. there was a fresh inch of snow on the ground and when I pulled off I was sitting on ICE that I could not see, the type of ice that forms on top of a small pond. then I herd a crack and felt the front end dive, shifted into reverse and slammed the gas as I watched water rush over the hood. It really sucked reaching into the water to put the truck in 4wd, but timing was perfect since the guy I let pass was in position to pull me out. very unexpected situation.

    That truck never stalled out in the minute or two in was in there, but it had crazy electrical issues until I sold it. It was ok but the air bag light would come on every now and again and I was always afraid it would blow that fugger out of blue one day.

    Bad luck for you're bike, but you are very lucky.

    Don´t know the Sprint ST. But I have tested both CBR 1100XX and ZX12R and they are great. The ZX12R is lighter and more sporty and has much more power.
