I know they took it down.. probably because they were getting replies about how motorcyclists are treated like scum by police and most people.

Just a note to let you know another member is thinking of your family and the other riders and wishing your sister-in-law a swift recovery. Try to focus on 'stable' instead of 'critical'.

Every day I have less sympathy for people who drink and drive/ride. My brother was up here a few days ago and we went riding together. He thinks nothing of downing a few beers and hopping on his Harley, and nothing I say seems to make any impression. As a volunteer firefighter, I am called to accident scenes and I see the results. Maybe mandatory jail time for first offenders would help.

    Sigh...

You can never have too many prayers or friends. This thread shows that love.

I agree, the DUI laws here in MD are supposed to be some of the toughest in the country, yet they let repeat offenders go time after time. Most are still driving on no license.

I'm still trying to figure out why they don't call it murder. You know every time you drink and drive that you could kill someone, so what’s the difference in throwing 8 or 9 drinks back and jumping in a car vs. pointing a gun in a general direction and pulling the trigger? 50-50 chance someone will die. People are like unloaded guns; Every drink is like putting another bullet in the chamber. Guns and alcohol don't kill people, people kill people.

Anyway, don't focus on the hate, focus all that hate into her recovery so she has the strength to walk in that courtroom and look him in the eyes when the cart his carcass off to jail! Hopefully for a long time!

Really really sorry to hear, I am sure that every biker in South Africa will join me in wishing everyone a full recovery. We also feel very strongly on the punishments for this type of offence which are utterly useless here.

please visit our site and see what we do here to proactively prevent this type of thing happening.

we are having a banner day here on the 3rd of Oct and also what we call a "commute on your scoot" day. We don't get to everybody but if we make a few THINK a bit then the risks reduce.

    THINK BIKE!

Words can not express the feelings I have toward the driver.

Sorry to hear this nailer, it is something we think about time to time but put it out of our heads and hopefully it won't happen. I hope they recover and ride again and they put the drunk away so he can't do it again. All the best to you and your familys.
