I like the get there quick 0 to 80 speeds, but have had my stock 08 135 indicated and had more room. I just think of all kinds of things that can go bad at those speeds and then the reality show goes off in my head, ding ding ding slow this crazy thing down. I'm 44, so maybe that has something to do with it? It is unbelievably smooth at that speed though.

I've hit 145 on my '02 Gen six at about 8700rpm. Very smooth. Still have room to go. I was told by the previous owner that he hit 167 on it. (w/o the PCIII) I imagine that it will do that, especially with the PCIII. Additionally, the bike is a tooth down in the front so that would knock of a mile or two an hour off the top end.

Speaking of gearing, there is a guy here in Denver with a stunt VFR on craigslist; one down in front and EIGHT up in back! Combine with the V4, talk about some low end torque!!

I've had mine up to 175ish Indicated but was at 11500rpm, I've regeared -1 +1 so Its off. I have a gps but I haven't verified it yet. It's a nice peice of slight downhill road that I can see about 4miles and can see well to each side of the road. I should get a Video camara mount and film it. Its breathtaking.

Oh btw full gear. Not that it would matter at those speeds ;-)

I had my 3rd gen 1990 up to 152 in Hawaii on the speedo. Yoshi slip-on,jet kit & a K&N. Actual was 142 I was told by H.P.D. when I got pulled over on H-1 !

154 indicated on my 5 lightened up 5 gen. The bike felt pretty stable, but a little on the light side up front. A buddy on a CBR1000 passed me pretty easily. When we got to our destination and compared notes, he told me his large digital speedo was indicating 172 when he passed me. If you do take a look at the speedo at those speeds it better be just a super quick glance.

I had my old 93' CBR600 up to 150miles/hr, most amazing piece of speed in my whole life, will never forget it. My 6th Gen 08 reminds me of the CBR in everyway, well mybe not the VTEC, but I am thinking this bike will easy do the same if not slightly better, so far I have managed 200km, which is about 125mile/hr. I just need to find a good road here in Calgary, Canada, the UK had better roads for more speed and more importantly less cop cars!!!

My regular 91 is pretty fast. When I really want to go, I fire up my other 91 that has been bored and stroked to 3 Liters, runs nitro, nitrous and a turbo for each cylinder. :strong:

Unfortunately my vfr saw no more than 60mph with me on it before it decided to throw a conecting rod through the case. 158 is the fastest i have been on my previous bike (GSXR) at least as far as the speedo indicates. However I just got the new motor for the vfr and cant wait to see what she has got! 5th gen 1998

    speed of vfr

i have a 2003 vfr and in 6th gear pinned it would not go any faster than 150 mph that is the fastest that i could get it to go. and at that speed that bike is amazing it hunkers down and rides like a champ i love it.

mine looks like its going 180 MPH even though its sitting still. Its great I put on my helmet, start it up let it run for a bit then imagine that I'm chasing Drewl, then catching him and then flying past him like he was standing still....... its good to have an imagination still. Btw my fastest was 132MPH said the nice CHP officer that was close to 20 years ago though....... does it still count?

I think I've already posted in this thread, but I've seen 140 on the speedo, and according to the gearing calculations, it should be good for ~160.

I hit 183mph indicated on my '08 CBR 1K rr ( no GPS verification ). The fastest I've seen on my '04 VFR was 149 indicated (or 136 actual as recorded on my GPS)! Both bikes are very stable at speed!
