The One Forties come up pretty fast with out the hard bags on. But, It's no so much the speed......I just wish I hadn't drank all that cough syrup!

 This reply comes after four hundred and four,... Which begs the question, is another response even necessary? Shouldn't there be a cut off to this thread? Shouldn't the thread be discontinued? When after reading the first few pages where riders say they got scared after running 125mph, I have to ask them and myself, why the hell would you ride a VFR? You need to switch to a boring ass Harley if 125 scares you.

Hit 157 on my '05. I don't think my speedo is too accurate, though. Probably around 145 MPH.

The late great Cycle magazine test of the 1986 VFR 750 : measured top speed 155mph, 1/4 mile time 10.95 @113.5mph - this is the quickest, fastest VFR verified times I know of for any stock VFR.

The VFR has put on more than a few pounds since then. It is now built more for comfort than for speed.

I managed 140mph on my '86 when I was easing it up on the highway to make sure my just-mounted 600F2 wheels were lined up and spaced properly. She had revs left to give but was running out of breath, I need to go up a couple teeth in the rear from the CBR 43 tooth.

I guess that is one way to test your wheels and tires. They stay on or they come off!

Hi, I have an 84 1000 with some work done to it. I have gone 130 on it, but I let off before I run out of throttle. Things happen to quick at that speed to be able to react safely. I would love to get it out on a track and really let it hang.

I ran it at 138, out in the middle of Oregon last summer with a pack on the back too. Got there real quick. Verified with GPS onboard. She even had a little left in her, but didn't feel like pushing it. Not bad for a 21 year old with 65K on her.
