Point taken. However if you dont want to participate in the thread you dont have to. My intent on this thread was to find problems or potential weakness in the bike. This is my first VFR and it seems to me to be the bike that I have been looking for the 15+ years I have been riding and I was wandering if I would like to add another to my stable.

"get on, sit down, shut up, and hang on". just a twist of the wrist is all you need to know about these bikes. I don't "qualify" to your specifications on posting to this forum for owning three different generations, but I have owned different bikes (been riding on the street since I was 16 off and on) I have owned a little bit of everything. I had an 86 700vfr way back when, and I found another one this past summer, so I bought it.
plain and simple, these bikes have personality they arent cold like my suzukis' have been. of course this is all my opinion. You know what they say about opinions..... Take it for what its worh.

I trade my car or truck in every about every year because I get tired of it. I traded all my motorcycles in every year because they were...too slow....tooo boring....to uncomfortable.....tooo much vibration.....anyway my 2006 in the first vfr I have owned. I have put 17000 miles on it and I guess I will have to buy a couple of more (older VFR's ) so that I will be entitled to answer this question about the VFR. When I was in the Navy there were only two good ships......your last ship and your next ship.

I legally don't qualify to put in my vote, but I will anyway.
I haven't had 3 different gen VFRs, but I've been a loyal Honda rider for most of my life.
Whenever I decide to take a ride, I have 3 Hondas to choose from. 99% of the time I break out the VFR (4th gen).
I wanted a unique sport bike, so I chose the VFR for the SSS. I got the 4th gen strictly for the geared cams. I've been around hot rods most of my adult life...to me the VFR fits the hot rod category perfectly. The throaty exhaust (not the whail of an I-4) and the "Pete Jackson" music from underneath makes my friends take notice.

When my 4th Honda is up and running, will it be my new #1??? No....The VFR will always be my favorite.
Besides...It's a Honda, they're all great. It's not that one gen might seem better than others, they just have different personalities.

On another note...The newest version is usually the best/more refined.
