Every time I wash my bike, the battery is dead afterwards.

    Any ideas?

    Uhhh, don't wash it.
But seriously, that's odd, I can see how you might would blow a fuse after washing, from an exposed connection, but washing causing a dead battery? Any chance you leave the key on while you wash?

I would guess that the water is grounding something out allowing your battery to drain. What happens when you ride in the rain?

There should be rubber caps over the battery cables and a rubber flap over the battery itself. How much water to you run over the battery? I usually just rinse that area, wipe it down and rinse it again. No running water over battery or fuse box or instrument panel.

    Info

    Hey,

No joke...this is a real issue.

I did not leave the key in the bike when I washed it.

I do not use any water around the battery or battery connections.

When I ride in the rain all is well.

Where would you start to find a grounding problem.

    And...what is the elf800 stuff?

Well...I'd agree you have an exposed wire somewhere that grounds out when water runs over it. It may be real obvious, or not. Start pulling off plastic and checking.

Who's elf800? He was our resident troll but was banned for life. He pops back up on the board under different alias casuing general mayhem and debauchery, but you already know this:)
