Wanted to say Hi! I started riding again in 2001 having not ridden since college. I will be 55 in July. I rode and continue to ride Harley's until 2006 when I took Freddie Spencer's school in Vegas. I have taken the class a total of three times and enjoyed each one.

At the school Freddie gave rides to each student on the back of his VFR. What a trip. Anyway at that first school I asked Freddie for his recommendation for a sport bike. His first choice was the VFR. Well It took 2 other Hondas, 05 F4i & 07 CBR 600 RR before I purchased my 07 VFR in Anniversary paint.

So now in the garage I have a 04 Road King and the 07 VFR. Both alot of fun on 2 wheels.

The VFR is staying for awhile. Last year I added Heli Bar Risers and love em. This year I am looking at a Zero Gravity Touring Windscreen and a Sargent seat.

Anyway if you are ever in Central Illinois and see a VFR it may be me.

Welcome! I think you will really appreciate the Sargent seat when you get one. That was the best addition I made to my bike, though I like the Heli Bars, too. And though I usually keep the stock screen on when I am not touring because I like the looks, for long rides with extended time on the highway, the Zero Gravity Sport Touring screen is excellent. You can switch between them in ten minutes, easily.

I used my first trip to Freddie's school in 2006 to decide whether I wanted to buy a sport bike. Up until that time I had only ridden Harley's. The school was a success because I purchased an F4i when I returned to Illinois.

What I liked about the school was the individual attention each student received along with the emphasis on riding better rather than riding faster. By riding better you naturally went quicker. Another highlight was Freddie would take you on a hot lap on his VFR. It was amazing how quickly he could go with someone on the back, no body lean because of the passenger and most amazingly you would never see his right hand move.

I last took the class in April 2008. I didn't feel it was quite as good as the previous times because Freddie was only there an hour out of the two days and he didn't do the ride alongs.

From what I read on Roadracing World last week Nick Ineatsch will be heading up a new school at Miller sponsored by Yamaha. The cool thing about that is Nick was Freddie's lead instructor. If you are looking for a school I would check this one out if it opens.
