I would go for the Dark Candy Red. I had the choice between the two when I bought mine in '07 and thought the DCR bike looked better.

I agree with Drewl, when purchasing a new bike - even a leftover that is new from a Dealer a new Helmet should be included, and if it is an Arai you like and wear then a nice discount should be offered. I say get the Maroon VFR with a new discounted Arai helmet, or else buy the bike from someone else. The dealer should also be kind enough to allow you to get some gear with a minimum AMA discount even if you are not a member. Guess I have been lucky so I am kinda spoiled because I know I can get it the way I want it from the right dealer. I have bought used bikes from dealers and got a free helmet and 10% discount on gear I bought with the bike. One dealer even gave me a free cover for the bike. Good Luck with whatever you choose to do. Black Helmets go with everything LOL!!!

Candy Glory Red is faster... the bike gets too confused with three colors on it and has an identity crisis. Keep it simple, the bike will be happier with just one color... RED!! Seriously, when I'm stopped at lights, people always roll their windows down and tell me how beautiful my bike is and how they LOVE that RED!! The dealer can throw in a helmet for you.

Congrats! Silver is beautiful but has a 8-15 mph lower top speed versus the RWB or Red bikes. The good news is the silver bikes are 5-7 mph faster than the white or black bikes!

Please don't buy into the rumor that Silver is not the fastest color. leanit has it backwards; Silver is 8*15mph FASTER than the red or RWB bikes. It's a common mistake...

I've had my brand new '07 for about a month now. I had the same problem as you, but when I saw the Dark Candy Red I knew that was the color to have. Besides, everyone knows red is faster......

    And the winner is ..........

    Dark Candy Red. :vtr2:

Wish it was not raining here right now. Got all the paper work completed and insurance inline. Ready to ride. Hopefully next weekend will be good weather and I can get her broke-in right.

Thanks for all the replies and hope all VFR riders have a great & safe riding season.

    Look thru the pics here

Ig you look at some of the photos on this site, you'll find a RWB with a big burgundy wing. It looks totally BA. I'd go RWB and add the burgundy wing then get a white or blue helmet.

Go for the maroon and get a helmet out of the dealer....then you would feel like you got an even better deal!

You will not regret it... I almost got the RWB myself, but now that I have the red, I am so happy with it. The RWB just doesn't "do it for me" like the red does. You'll see... you will be so glad you made the decision to go red. I think this is Honda's best red ever!!

Got the bike this afternoon ..... 60 miles later  (okay so had big grin all day).

What a sweet machine. You guys have been holding out on the rest of the motorcycle world. Once I figured out the off/on throttle response about 20 miles of shifting, everything was great. Just wish it was not blowing a gale today.

So atleast I am now an official VFR(ider).
