It's March 28, and there is more snow on the ground now then there has been the entire winter combined! Snow drifts are up to 6-7 ft deep in some spots outside of the house. What happened to the spring riding season? Is anybody else's Viffer trapped in their garage?

Yup. Mine's stil in the garage from winter storage. She hasn't even seen the sunlight this spring yet. :frown:

We only got a light dusting of snow overnight. Apparently, more is on the way and I don't like to hear about snow in KS. That just means it's coming this way. Hopefully, warmer weather will turn the snow to rain. We need the rain. Enough of the damn snow!

    I'm stuck inside too!
I have been out the past 2 weekends....I thought we were home free, the weather was beautiful!!
Now there are huge snow drifts everywhere, and I can't even risk snowmobiling, because there are huge amounts of water from the previous thaw under this heavy blanket of snow.
Oh well.....been too busy sandbagging to worry abou that....the Red River is a bitch!!!

Indeed. The Red River is a nasty piece of mother nature.

I've been out three times so far. It's cold but the roads are clear. They're forecasting more snow for the next few days. Maybe I'd better get out again this morning. There must be some errand that needs running...

When you do get out, take it easy for a while.

    Indeed!

The roads here are full of sand and lots of salt still. Ride with caution.

And don't forget the idiot cagers haven't seen us for 4-6 months. So they'll have to be reminded that we're allowed on the road too.

yea, i hate the snow, although, I enjoy when it is cold without snow because of the parking on campus! As soon as the weather gets nice the 4 spaces provided just don't work :(

I got a 100 mile ride in about a week ago...70 degrees outside for one day. The bike's been parked since. I'm thinking of hooking the trickle charger to it again. :frown: There's no let-up in sight.

Holy shiet!! man, and I thought our winter was hanging on.. yea it's warmed up to a whole 40 and raining, at least it's looking like the white stuff is behind us, but not far away they are calling for the snow level to drop to 500 feet and I'm at 200, so not far enough yet to be safe. I'm so over this crap!

Gawd I loved that place. I sure miss the spring time soid conditioning and the Exercise Sand bagging. I sure miss that.

But seroiusly, hope your home is safe. Where was that ice jam that caused some concern. Lockport? I see further up stream from you in Minnesota, they are suffering the rath of the Red. And they laughed at Duff Roblin when he first proposed that floodway!

Grounded here in the KC area, literally! They shut down KCI due to ice and snow, mostly ice by what we're getting. This was around 2 pm. I don't feel so bad if they can't fly with all their deicing equipment, I can stay off the bike a little while anyway.

My home is under no threat, my son and I have pitched in by filling sand bags.
Nothing makes you feel like part of the community like helping out in times of need. Spirits are high-everybody pulls together..it's amazing!!
The ice jam in Lockport has moved, water dropped about 1 1/2 feet, but it may still dam up at Selkirk....
St.Andrews has lost a few homes, evacuaed some, and others are on high alert.
Without Duff's ditch (recently rebuilt to endure a 1 in 800 year flood) we would all be toast!!! We are actually pretty lucky to be living in a place with the foresight to undertake such a mammoth project.(Thanks Duff!)
