How much drag should there be in new wheel bearings. Just picked up my wheels from the shop, and the inner races in the rear are tight, but smooth. Fronts won't turn at all with just my fingers on the inner races.

seems stiff, but then this is my first experience with new wheel bearings.

All the new bearings we put in the Hawk's engine spun freely, both before and after install.

If they don't spin with your finger they're too tight. They should spin freely, but not loosely.

I was worried about that. I'll poke more when I get them home (they're in the trunk of the car right now).

May call up the shop and see what they say.

Found the problem, they're in tight against the spacer, so I can turn the both bearings and the spacer together as a set, but not a bearing individually. Outer race set too deep for the length of the spacer?

Seems to be getting better as I move them by hand.
