A heaver bike is more stable. rides better. is less effected by wind. esspicially on the highway.

a lighter bike has a bit more power and better gas mileage.

    what do you prefer?

I think we need more specific definitions of light and heavy. A VFR is heavy for a sport bike but light compared to a HD Ultra Classic. A CBR (600 or 1000) is very light for a sport bike but would be heavy in a crowd of super motos. I feel the VFR has a good balance of heft for stability while still being light enough to hustled through the corners.

My "light" SV only has 71 HP to rear wheel this is a false statement

I've said this before in other threads. MY opinion is the actual weight of the bike isn't the main issue, it's the length. The longer the bike, the heavier the feel. My old Blackbird VS my VFR is the perfect example. A 1.5" shorter VFR with almost the exact same weight "feels" much lighter and nimble. The VFR is underpowered compared to others in it's weight class but who gives a crap?

Oh and I prefer which ever bike I'm riding at the time
