While sneeking in a few commutes inbetween work/family commitments and mixed weather its been 3 long weeks since my last good day ride on my VFR and I'm missing its mind straightening therapeutic properties a lot. :frown:

Usually it takes me 2 weeks to start pining for a good ride, how long before folks start to miss riding their VFRs ?

I haven't had a good ride since the birth of my second child on April 30th and I'm really starting to lose my mind. I am going riding this weekend for sure if the weather cooperates.

    Regards,
    Rollin

My bike's in pieces now and I'm waiting for parts. It's been 2 weeks and I'm already making revving sounds in my sleep... If this keeps up I'm gonna have to steal a bicycle.

I've put 24,000 Klm on my bike this year. I ride everyday, regardless of the weather

How's this for a bad itch to ride? I haven't been able to do more than 30 miles at one time for almost 10 months now. Had a firetruck back into our communications truck at the end of last summer causing it to rollover and I ended up with an injured shoulder. I get better from that and then I dump my dirtbike over a cliff at the start of Fall and end up having back surgery the beginning of this year. So, yeah, I'm itching badly each day.

I rode Memorial Day, it was great. Now its Thursday and I am starting to "chomp at the bit."
...so 3 days is about right for me.

I ride all year round (perk of living in Cali!) and only put her away if the winds get over 35mph on the bridges. I commute 5 days a week but rarely get a chance to ride on the weekends because of family obligations. Even just 2 days of not riding has me longing for my Monday morning commute to work. It's almost like tempting a death row inmate to lie on the execution table with a promise of a "ride" from the visiting nurse in a short skirt!

I am unable to complete your survey as the available options are in days, not minutes.

I just moved to Hawaii so my Viffer is somewhere in the Pacific on it's way here. It's going to be 3 more weeks before I see her again. But my buddy let me borrow his scooter. That little thing is awesome.

John I think you and I are somewhat alike in that regard. For me it really depends on the type of riding I'm coming off of. If I'm commuting I get about 4 days of it and am somewhat fed up with people and their cages. I have no problem taking a week or two off.

If I could ride everyday without people around I probably would. If my commute didn't entail the city I would commute everyday as well.

I'm in the process of selling my house and moving so my VFR is in my storage unit. I still get to ride everyday but on my Vespa GTS 250. I feel bad when I go get something out of storage and see my baby sitting there looking at me. I tell her it's ok and we'll be back on the road again soon. If that Vespa wasn't so dang comfortable and fun to ride, plus getting 70mpg while going 80mph on the interstate is fun too. I do get the VFR out from time to time for my speed fix and for the longer rides but for the most part she is just waiting for the move to happen. Once the move is done she'll be getting a lot more seat time because the roads out in the Pacific Northwest are sweet.

Wholeheartedly agree Jason, have one week long shift in my roster I love commuting to city by VFR. I start at 10:00am and finish at 18:00 which gives me moderate off peak traffic flow with residual peak time clearways and bikes are allowed in near empty Bus lanes which end at 10:00am blasting past any hold ups and on the way home they end at 7pm. By motorcycle it takes me 35 minutes door to door with a loopy grin by cage about 50mins and by public transport 1hr and half.

Of course even a good week of commutes only counts as half marks, its getting out of the city and stumbling upon a "new" winding or recently resealed country back roads that I love most.
