I wave at all bikes except HD unless they wave first. I'd say 90% of them won't wave to you anyways.

...I'm on the fence about scooters (lol). Seems like I unconsciously wave at what LOOKS like a wing and its a SILVERwing and my hand comes back to the clip on by itself...working on that...

There's a certain group of Harley tough guys that I don't wave at cause they have NEVER waved back. Other than them, everyone gets a wave.

I used to wave to everyone but recently changed my rules on waving.

Now, I DO NOT wave to idiots who aren't wearing a helmet. You're in shorts & a t shirt? I'll wave but won't even look at you because I think you're an idiot. You're not wearing a helmet? You're a pox on our chosen sport, a freaking moron & not worth the time it takes me to acknowledge your worthless presence.

    KC-10 FE out...

Forgot to mention a couple of things. I wave to scooters, bicyclists, big wheels, and anything else that may be on two wheels.

Also, there are hundreds of Amish horse-drawn wagons in my neck of the woods every Sunday. I was coming up behind one a while back, and two little kids were in the back with their faces pressed up against the window. I waved to them, and they got the biggest grins on their faces I've ever seen, and waved happily at me as I passed by. Since then, I always wave at the little kids. Nothing like a big smile from a child to make your world seem right and to help you forget about sliding around in all of that horse manure!

I generally wave at everyone on 2 wheels. But, was following 2 HD riders a couple weeks ago and another HD rider came by in the opposite direction. They waved at each other and I then waved at the passing rider, he kept his hands on the bars and stared straight ahead like I wasn't there. He got my 'you're number one' salute. :asshat:

I also wave at everyone, regardless of what they ride, because before anything, I am a motorcycle enthusiast, period. I have my preferences on what I ride, but I respect anyone who rides on 2 wheels. I hate when the Harley guys won't wave back. I'm just thrilled to see anyone on 2 wheels!

I wave to all 2 wheelers even the HD guys. Sometimes if they are alone they wave back usually on the side roads when nobody else is around.

I wave everytime it's safe and I'm comfortable...I'm still a newer rider so safety is first. If I don't wave back follow me till I stop and I'll talk your head off.

I tend to wave to everyone; other bikers (especially in the middle of a curve while at full lean), kids in cars, kids on lawns, old people on porches, kids at bus stops, anyone who seems to be checking out my bike, and most importantly everyone in a car who has the opportunity to pull out in front of me and then waits for me to pass.

I'll never forget, while travelling through Kentucky, all the people in pickup trucks who would wave as they passed in the opposite direction. Why not be friendly?

I used to wave to everyone, but around my area HD guys wave maybe 1/3 of the time.
BMW guys only 1/10 of the time, you know the type with the yellow vests.
I shouldn't let that bother me but it does sometimes. So now I wave only if they wave first.
Everyone who waves to me gets a wave of course- scooters, rascals, pedestrians, kids, one elderly woman who drives her lawn tractor around town..
VFR riders or any old bikes in nice shape get an enthusiastic thumbs up.

I wave to anyone riding a bike.

It's discouraging when the asshats riding sometning that they deem to be BETTER than me won't wave back, but that's their prerogative. Just means that you're a self righteous bastard that needs to get a better life than the one that you are currently suffering through...

I'll wave or nod my head to most 2 wheelers (not scooters :tongue2:) ...if traffic is a little heavy. I always wave at kids because that one wave may make them want to ride a motorcycle when they get older. We need more of us on the road to help protect our rights when the legislators try and take them away from us! :thumb:

I've found that most HD riders don't wave because most of them are "weekend warriors" that barely know how to ride. If they take their hand off the bars they'd crash!

I always wave to other riders, and chat it up at lights when next to me...even with HD riders  , we are all out there dealing with the same shit from the cagers out to kill us with their stupidity, obstacles in the road, bad or harsh conditions, etc. Hell years ago when I got back into riding, picked up an old nighthawk 2nd week of January... got soaked first day out and no $$ for rain gear with months of nasty riding weather ahead. I got home, took sweat pants...black trash bags, and lots of duct tape...put it all together and made my own water/wind proof riding chaps. All y friends flipped me shit for them, but EVERY rider I encounterd while wearing them on the freeway and around town gave me a look up and down then a hearty thumbs up. As I was dealing with the same crap as them when 90% of bikes in the area are warm in their garage. I rarely have a rider that doesn't wave back

I wave at all incoming 2 wheelers... except scooters. I hate them.
After a while, I notice that:
100% of sports bikes wave back.
    50% of cruisers wave back.

So, it usually ends up like:
First half of my rides... I wave at all.
second half of my rides... I wave at all sports bikes and stop waving at cruisers.
    (unless they wave first).

    Oh...
And I wave at ALL kids in minivans!

I think I'm going to go back to giving everyone the finger. It seems to generate more of a return.

Then again, I am in New Jersey. Come on down and wave to some Jersey riders...
