My first post... and of course... here to ask a question.
Just bought a 2002 VFR vtec, and it had been sitting for a few years. Put it all back together, or at least what I thought was "together". Started it up, drove it around, and it runs fine. Decided to take it down the road, got it up in the RPMs a bit, and noticed some smoking at a stop sign. Upon further inspection I found it to be leaking oil, but I can't see from where. It is a significant amount, and its coming from somewhere on top of the engine. none on the rear bank, but all over the front of the block. It's not the valve cover gasket, although the bolts were loose. I'm thinking something to do with the vtec solenoid? Any input would be greatly appreciated. I have it torn down to the throttle body, and it seems that there is oil pooled on top.

I am not sure on the 6th gen bikes but on the 5th gen the oil cooler is right up front on the motor. An old dried up o ring seal on the cooler or a cooler with a leak could cause this problem.

    ..

Nope, oil cooler is fine, and so are the lines, and gaskets. I think its coming from up top and spilling on to the block, and sides. Looks almost like a spray pattern on the inside of the plastics. I'm at a loss...
