Just wanted to say a quick hello to everyone on the board. I just purchased a 2000 VFR800, and am over the moon to have a street bike again. My Dad started me on bikes at age 4, and I have been hooked ever since.

A GSXR 750 blessed my garage last, but after my friend and good riding buddy wadded his CBR929 and broke his ankles, he took some time off. My wife and I had our first child and I wasn't riding the GSXR, so in a moment of weakness I sold it to a friend who had been after me about it for quite some time.

Fast forward to 2006 and three kids: Me needs a streetbike again! I have the most amazing and supportive wife; she said go for it as long as it's comfortable for me!

Long story short, I will pick up the VFR today and hopefully post some photos soon.

Looking forward to getting to know the board. Great information here...

    Cheers!

    Steve

You did good!!! Welcome to the 5G club, from my biased opinion, the best VFR ever made :first: I also use to have a GSXR 750, the VFR is so such more comfy but still has the engine when the sport rider wants to come out.

Welcome to the board. I think you made a good choice. I almost went more sporty, but it turned out a lot better for me than I expected.

Got the Yellow one: Photo posted...

Sorry for the delayed response. Thanks for the warm welcome to the board, everyone. I opted for the Yellow VFR. It came with Heli Bars, newish tires, chain/sprockets, Mag-Knight tank protector, and a Stantune slip on.

Gonna sell the Staintune slip on, as a high pipe is not my preference.

Thanks again for your responses. Here's a quickie photo in the garage; I'll get a better one soon:

Thanks. With a 2 car garage you have to get a bit creative...

That's the wife's ATV, btw. With 3 kiddies ages 4, 2 and 4 months, we don't get out riding too much anymore....
